About Your Secret Key

Your secret key (format: A3-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) was generated when you signed up.

This key is stored locally and never sent to our servers. Combined with your master password, it creates your encryption key.

Important: If you lose your master password OR secret key, your data cannot be recovered. We cannot reset your encryption credentials.

Setting Up a New Device

To access your encrypted data on a new device:

  1. Install the sine~sync CLI on the new device
  2. Run sinesync login
  3. Enter your email and password
  4. When prompted, enter your Secret Key
  5. Your encryption key is derived and your data syncs automatically

Active Sessions

Sessions expire after 24 hours of inactivity. You can revoke devices from the Devices page.
