Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using sine~sync ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

sine~sync provides encrypted synchronization of AI memories and embeddings across devices. The Service uses zero-knowledge encryption, meaning we cannot access or recover your data.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Account security - Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Key management - Safely storing your master password and secret key. We cannot recover these if lost.
  • Accurate information - Providing accurate account information.
  • Account activity - All activity that occurs under your account.
Important: If you lose your master password OR secret key, your encrypted data will be permanently inaccessible. We cannot reset your password or recover your keys.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Store or transmit illegal content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use the Service for any purpose that is harmful or malicious

Note: Due to zero-knowledge encryption, we cannot monitor the content you store. However, we reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms if we become aware of violations.

Subscription and Payment

  • Free trial - New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full features.
  • Billing - Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance.
  • Cancellation - You may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of the billing period.
  • Refunds - We offer refunds within 14 days of initial purchase if you're unsatisfied.
  • Price changes - We may change prices with 30 days notice. Existing subscriptions are honored until renewal.

Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • All your data is encrypted before leaving your device
  • We cannot read, access, or decrypt your stored data
  • You retain ownership of all data you store
  • You can export or delete your data at any time

Vault Sharing

If you use vault sharing features:

  • You are responsible for who you share vaults with
  • Shared vault members can read all content in the vault
  • You can revoke access at any time (future sync will be prevented)
  • We are not responsible for how others use data you share with them

Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may:

  • Perform maintenance with reasonable notice when possible
  • Experience outages due to factors beyond our control
  • Modify or discontinue features with notice

Your data remains encrypted and accessible locally even during service outages.

Intellectual Property

The sine~sync service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Sine Technologies LLC. You retain all rights to the data you store using the Service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, sine~sync and Sine Technologies LLC shall not be liable for:

  • Data loss due to lost encryption keys (which only you control)
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits or business interruption
  • Actions of third parties or other users

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Termination and Account Deletion

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Subscription page (you must cancel any active subscription first). Upon account deletion:

  • Your access to the Service will end immediately and all sessions will be revoked
  • You will be removed from any shared vaults you are a member of (those vaults remain accessible to other members)
  • Vaults you own and all their data will be permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period
  • Any unused subscription time is non-refundable (except within the 14-day refund window)
Before deleting your account: Run a local sync to keep a decrypted copy of your data. Once your account is deleted, your encrypted data cannot be recovered.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
